Question about work experience

I have a question regarding work experience for the FSW program. My wife has had a full-time paid position as a research Assistant in Biological sciences through her PhD program for the past 3 and a half years in a reputed US institution. So, I think that since her work is full-time and is paid, it counts as required work experience. But since the CIC website doesn't touch upon this type of work experience, I am again a little confused about it. Does anyone have any idea about it and whether it counts as work experience?

It counts in the Federal Skilled Program for now, but it may change in the future. But not on the CEC since Jan 02.
