Hey Guys,

I am an former International Student who graduated from his program in April 2016. I worked in retail until I started my position in NOC B position on June 2017. I am going to apply in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). I got a Post Grad Work Permit on May 2016.

From what I understand to apply for PR I would need complete 1590 work hours. I am about to complete 1590 hours in Febuary 2017.

When can apply - Feb 2018 or June 2018? Thank you.

June 2018.

It works like this - you need to complete 1 year and complete 1590 hours.

It doesn't work like this - complete 1 year or complete 1590 hours.

Thanks for the replies guy why wont they count the year from when I got my work permit ie May 2016 not June 2017. Thanks.
You haven't stated whether you were working during such period, you only mentioned your work experience starting June 2017.

I worked retail from May 2016 until June 2017. The position was NOC D level position. Sorry about the confusion. From June 2017 I have worked in a NOC B level position

Such work experience is irrelevant (as it is not a skilled position) and wont help you meet the eligibility requirements.

Wait until June 2018.

First, it is 1560 hours (Not 1590 hours).
Second, you can only claim a maximum of 30 hours per week even if you work for more than that. This means that you have to work for 52 weeks with 30 hours per week or more.
Third, for claiming points, the work experience needs to be in a NOC 0, A, or B job. Your NOC D job is irrelevant and you can't use it to claim points.
To sum up, you are not eligible to apply under CEC before June 2018. Good Luck!
