hello all,

My parents would like to apply visitor visa for canada. they are in usa and would like to visit here for 3 wks. I am planning to apply there visa but i am confused whats the difference between visitor visa and super visa. My parents have no intention to stay in canada permanently. they just want to visit here for 2-3 wks single entry. how would i be able to not apply for super visa. and get the regular tourist visa without purchasing insurance and all other super visa procedure. I would really appreciate the advise. Thank you!

Your parents have to do their application themselves.

The Super Visa is a multiple entry visa. If they think they might want to visit more than one in the next two years, go for the Super Visa. It will save the headache of having to apply multiple times.

Just to make sure, your parents aren't US citizens? If so, they don't need a visa at all.

thanks for the reply, yes my parents will apply themselves all i am doing is helping them fill the documents which we are planning to mail to LA canadian consulate office. My parents arent usa citizen. they are in visitor visa in usa and before they return would like to visit canada as well (single entry). I am confused because as per the document checklist. they need copy of my t4, there has to be a sponsor n so on. Am i checking the wrong checklist? what if the docs checklist and forms that needs to be submitted. cause all i am getting is information and requirements for supervise which we dont need it.
I ll appreciate any reply back

For single entry, start here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp

#2 is Download the application package. Open it. It will have a link for eligibility and a link for the forms. Download the forms. The document checklist in there will have a list of all documents you must submit.

Ya thats what i did. the document checklist seems to be the one for Supervisa. IMM 5484.
Please let me know. i dont seem to be able to differentiate betn super visa application n regular visitor visa . I am looking to get the regular tourist visa application checklist only. Thank you

That is regular visa. Super visa is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa.asp

Read this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256ETOC.asp

It's TRV guide.

you can , but they always prefer from home country and if u give reason for wedding, they might catch u suggesting that you would have known abt the dates..they do get irked when applied from other location and better chance from home country
