We just sent our outland PR application yesterday. I'm now reading on the forums about what to put as a date for something that is "present" or "ongoing"
on both the sponsor and the principal applicant forms, for the residential address after we printed it out and validated it we printed "present". Do you think this will cause any problems since it's not typed?

Different people do it in different ways, but the "Validate" generates the barcodes that allows the application information to be entered into the GCMS system automatically. When you hand edit the forms one of two things will occur. That information will not be automatically added, requiring more work for the staff in CIC, or, it will be completely missed and the information gap may cause delays.

Personally, I advocate the entry of the date that the form is signed as representing "today" or "ongoing" as this then allows the forms to be completely automated. CIC are not stupid and they can figure out that something didn't suddenly stop happening on the date the application was signed.
