I am interested in learning about Canadian work laws for US companies sending sales representatives to call on / work with Canadian customers. Is a Visa required? If so, is that sales representative or sales manager working in Canada illegally if he / she does not have a Visa?
Also, if a Canadian sales rep for the same US company went out on legal maternity leave for 6 months in Ontario, returned to work, and was permanently replaced in her specific role by an American living in the US, traveling to Canada to call on her former customers here, is this allowed? Or, is there some "grey area"?
