Question about UCI

Hi guys,

I have tried to apply for the PR back in 2014. At the time I had some issues collecting all the documents with their translations and sending it from Australia to Canada.
In the end, the documentation arrived after the 25000 limit so Immigration sent back my application explaining why it would not be processed. But I noticed there is an UCI in the forms.

So my question is, I've just received ITA and when the form asks if I have applied for residency before, Should I say yes and use the UCI number I received in the old application? Or is it not considered an application as it wasn't evaluated because of the limit of applications being reached?

Many thanks
Daniel

You have to answer Yes and provide the UCI number.

Thanks.. really appreciate that.

I've asked a couple immigration consultants about this and one said YES and the other said NO.. which left me a bit confused...

Sorry, I'm just trying to get my head right here..

I just went back to the online for and it asks:

1) Has Daniel applied to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada before?
When I select YES, it enables the UCI box to type the number in

2) Has Daniel applied for Permanent Residence (PR) before?
I'm not sure I got to this point last time because my file wasn't even looked at. And if I select YES here, it enables a box to insert the PR file number on it which I don't have at all.
So should I select NO on this or should i select YES and just leave the PR file number blank?

Thanks again guys

@ Op, Please see below

I applied before Express Entry was launched, but my application was returned because it was incomplete (or the cap was reached). Do I answer “yes” or “no” to the “have you previously submitted an application” question?

If you got a letter from us that confirms your previous application is being processed, you should answer “yes.”

If you did not get this letter, you should answer “no.” If the application was never formally accepted for processing, we don’t count it as an application.
