Question about TRV

Hi All,

Hope all is well with everyone!
I am reaching out to you all to get some information as below in case someone came across with same situation as one of my friend has.

My friend has trv which is going to be expired in end of January 2019. Currently he is in Canada. When he entered in Canada he did not get any stamp or explicitly stay duration on passport as he got it in first visit.
Should he consider that he is permitted to stay 6 month and there would not be any issue when he travel back once his visa is expired?

Thanks

He should assume he was allowed in for six months and can stay that long.

If border officer didn't explicitly specify the length of time he could stay, then it's 6 months max.
The expiry date on TRV has nothing to do with the length of time one can stay in Canada.
