Hi,
I work in USA on H1B visa. Recently, I landed in Canada and became a permanent resident, and came back to USA for working. Within next few months, I plan to move to Canada.

My dad who is in India is applying Canada visitor visa and I am being the host. I want to show him around Canada during his visit. I only have confirmation of permanent residence and not PR card yet. My dad is widowed now and he has no job or business. I have been sending him money regularly for the past few years to take care of him. My sister and her family are living in India too. All my other family members (my dad's brothers and sisters are in India too). He has a land on his name in India, and he lives in a rental home.

Is there any reason to believe that his visiting visa can have any rejection issues? What can I do to strongly support documentation for his visa process?

Please share your thoughts and any suggestions are appreciated. I am excited to bring my dad and show him some good places in Canada.

Thank you.

The main thing is to prove that he will not overstay his visa.

Documentation of his property and home back in India, bills, any paperwork you can find, and documentation of his family ties to India, also proof of funds and a good reason to visit you in Canada, but it may help if there is a specific reason to visit you and a specific reason to return.

I am planning to prepare "Affidavit of Support" as my dad does not have own home or job at this point. He only has a land on his name, and I send him money every month or so. So, I thought "Affidavit of Support" can be helpful.

Can anyone tell me what is this "Affidavit of Support" form? Is this a letter that I need to sign in presence of attorney in Canada? I do not seem to find any form for this. Please guide me where I can find the form or a sample letter, and instructions on how to have this completed.

Thank you all in advance for your helpful replies.

Maruthi,

You should strongly show your's dad relationship ties in Canada and India.Funds proof in India,Iternary(return ticket),Travel history,Purpose of visit. My wife got rejected just last month for these reasons only.

Don't get disheartened but chances are very less. Try New Delhi CIC if you can.
