Hello,

I recently had to apply for a PGWP, along with restoration of my student status.
I was recently informed by a GOC official that Restoration of Status can take up to 4 months, meaning I'll only have an answer to my application around November. I just want to know whether, I am allowed to stay in Canada until then. I read on the immigration Canada website that pending restoration of status applications do not grant the applicant implied status. Does this mean I will have to leave the country while I wait for a response??

Thanks

Hi Dear

You can still stay in canada untill decision made on your restoration but you are not allowed to do any paid work in this period. If you did paper application of restoration it will take 3 months otherwise i am not sure abt online application?
But you can stay .

I recently restored my status. The previous post is correct, you can remain in the country, but you cannot work or go to school until they respond to you.
The time frame is an initial 28 days, assuming you applied for your work permit online if not 55 days, plus up to an additional 16 weeks for restoration. Your status should be restored to worker. The restoration part varies. Mine only took 4 weeks. All the best.
