I am based in Ottawa:
Has anyone got any recommendations for a photographer / Photo' company in Ottawa that knows how to take the "official" immigration pictures correctly?

Also, I will be taking a medical in Ottawa (for an outland PR application).
I see that on Appendix C there is a note asking about the visa office I will be using, I assume this is the Outland office (London, UK in my case), am I correct on this?

As I have not yet submitted the PR application forms, will the medical report be held in London, UK until my application "catches up"?

Is the client ID that I have on my current visitor record the same ID that I have to use on this and every other document I submit?

Are there any other things that I need to know or be aware of for the medical?

Thanks

We just got ours done at Japan Camera in the Galerie de Hull last week. I'm sure they will be fine. The requirements are not very extensive. The only problem was that they cost $14.95 for the first 2 and $9.95 for each additional 2 which came to quite a lot of money, since we needed 5 for the medical certificate alone. We will need more to be sent in with the application and I'm thinking of doing these myself.

They do not ask for the pictures to be stamped on the back, but the stores tend to stamp them all without thinking anyway, because they are so used to doing passport pictures. I'm hoping the stamps on the back will just be irrelevant for the medical. Any place that does passport photos should be able to do them, but take the specification sheet with you and ask that they not stamp the back. It just has to be facing forward, with a white background (with presumably no shadows on it) and the right size, head and shoulders, with the face centred. The requirements are not nearly as specific as the ones for passports.

You'll want to send the application quickly once you have the medicals. The medicals may take a little time to get there anyway, but you don't want them done much in advance because there is a danger that they will expire before the application is finished processing, and I understand that they may require a new medical in that case.

Yes, the visa office is the one in London in your case.

I'm not sure about the ID, but I think it might be the one on your VR. I'd like to know that too.

I went to the University of Ottawa health centre downtown. It was convenient for me since I'm a student there, but I thought the cost was quite reasonable too. Be sure you tell them it's for an outland application. They mostly do inland applications in Canada and outland ones need an extra picture for an extra form.
