Hello, guys, I have some questions about the point calculation for Ph.D stream applicants. I hope we can figure it out together:

1. In the "Experience" category, I believe the 37.5hours*12=1950 hours/year is a severely criteria for Ph.Ds. I think it is calculated based on the contracts of TA/RA between the Ph.D and the university. If someone's funding is mainly from scholarship, which means less time on RA/TA, it will be a problem to get 1950 hours in 2 years.

2. In the "Adaptability" category B, the "previous study in Canada" shows "have completed a program of full-time study of at least two years' duration at a post-secondary institution in Canada". I heard that someone has been rejected because he did not COMPLETE a program. That's a big problem because without this 5 points, and assuming most of Ph.D can not earn 17 points in the "Experience" category with 3900 hours, the total points will be 66, short of 1 point!

3. I am married but my wife is not in Canada now. She has a Ph.D degree so I hope I can earn 5 points in "Adaptability" category A. But it seems that the spouse must be an "accompanying" spouse?! Does it mean she must come to Canada before I apply for the PR? OR she can apply as the dependent and submit the PR application with me(as the principal applicant)?

So frustrating...
