Question about passport request and getting married

Hi Seniors,

I'm expecting an ITA in few draws. I plan to get married on Jan 28, 2016. If I receive my passport request in January then what should I do? Should I let CIC know that I'll be marrying end of Jan and then will they wait until I get married and allow me to send the documents of my spouse ? Or should I complete the process ? Please advise what I should do if such situation arises.

Best thing to do would be to get married before you apply. You can get a legal wedding done, then have the traditional ceremony as planned.

Otherwise- you will have to add your spouse while your application is in process, which will increase processing times. In the unlikely event you get a PPR in January right before your wedding, you can inform CIC of your upcoming wedding and ask if you can add her then.
