Hi,

I would like to ask a question about multiple entry visa of my mother-in-law.
My mother-in-law is staying here in Canada for almost 1 year now. This coming november 2015 is her expiration date of stay here in Canada. We are from Philippines and we, family is going to visit back home in the Philippines and we will be staying there for 1 month. So the question is, when we go back home to Canada, Can we bring my mother-in-law again? even if she will only staying for 1 month outside Canada. I know that i have to book her a ticket back from Canada to Philippines so it has a proof that she will still return back home. Is there any issue about staying at least 1 month outside Canada, and will be okay to return again together with us?

Anyone please help. Thank you.

Whether your mother-in-law is allowed back into Canada and for how long is entirely up to the immigration official she speaks to when she enters Canada. There's always some possibility she may be refused entry and sent home if the officer believes she is spending too much time in Canada and behaving as someone who lives here rather than a visitor. So she can certainly return with you - however there is no guarantee she will be readmitted to Canada. After a say of a year in Canada, it may be wiser to spend six months outside of Canada before trying to return. But she's certainly free to try to return after only a month.
