I am American, my husband is Canadian. We have been married since 2004, and married within Canada. I remained living in Texas to finish my teaching job until retirement, which was this last May. My husband "lives" in Canada, but visits me every three months, or I go visit him. Now that I am retired, we are hoping for me to live with him in Canada. We have started the paperwork for a spousal sponsorship. My question is: can I bring my furniture and personal belongings with me when I come, or must I wait until my paperwork is done? I know I can visit, but I want to sell my house in the U.S. and buy a house with my husband.Thank you so much!

If you bring all of your belongings with you before you become a PR, you will essentially be moving to Canada, not visiting, and will almost definitely be refused entry at the border. This happened not too long ago to an American woman, same situation.
