Hey all,

I have a question for those with LCG application experience.

If for example, an applicant has had their LCG training in child-care. What has been your experience when using that training as a grounds to apply for an LCG position for elderly care? Or vice-versa?

Thanks for your reply.

I'll ask my sister-in-law and let you know if she says anything.

Edit:

My s-i-l needs some more information:

Need a lil more detail here just in case she asks me. So, ur friend is in Canada already? If so, what kind of visa he/she has? My friends have caregiver visa. But in order to get the visa, they have to be qualified. And they all have previous child care experience in the US/Australia/Thailand.

She's asking all the Thai nannies in Calgary atm.

Client is already in Canada on visitor's visa. Employer has given her job offer letter as LCG for an elderly patient. Client has 6 months accredited LCG training but it was for child-care.

What I want to know has anyone had the experience of getting the work permit with accredited but un-related training. Child-care training for an elderly care position or vice-versa. I don't want to file the WP application if these cases are known to be refused. Just trying to save time, money and energy.

Thanks!

The word from the nannies is her work visa must be in direct relation to what she's trained for. If she's trained for childcare and applies for elderly care, she will probably be rejected. The nannies are strongly suggesting she doesn't apply.

OK. Thank you for your response. This is what I have read but had heard conflicting reports as of late. Just wanted to probe the common opinion here on the forums.

Cheers
