Hi,
I am filling the application for FSW category 1 to send to Sydney.

I have a question on IMM 0008 form.

1. Have you taken an approved test to assess your proficiency in English or French?

My answer is No. But I intend to take it sometime in the next couple of weeks.
What should I write here now?
If I write 'No', it asks 'Provide efficiency of your proficiency in Canada's official languages'. Do I need to write a cover letter even while sending to Sydney?

I am thinking of just writing 'No' and not provide any evidence at this time. Seniors, please advise.

2. The other question I have is: Do I need to paste my photo on 'Application for Permanent resident in Canada' even while sending it to Sydney?

Please suggest. Thanks a lot.

1. if you say No to IELTS, you don't need to provide explanation letter at this point.

2. you don't need to paste or send photo at this point. ONLY application form and applicable fee in your case in canadian dollar.

Thanks a lot. I am planning to claim full points for language now while submitting to Sydney.

After I take my IELTS, what if my score shows 'moderate proficiency'? Can I change the language points that I claim while submitting to the visa office later?

For your information, I am crossing 67 points even with out claiming full language points.

Any suggestions/advice welcome.

if your score is lesser than what you have requested, obviously visa officer will go on the basis of what your score is.

well, its all about 67 points, even if you have score lesser in language proficiency and your points are higher than 67, you won't be denied unless otherwise.

Maruti,

If you are having more than 67 points without language, take language at moderate level. Even in all circumstances, where one beleives their English above standard and does not require IELTS or any English test must consider moderate, if no test is supported at the time of submission of their application.

Its a human psycho, put English as moderate and who knows you get better results in IELTS, which gives you more motivation than in opposite case!

Good Luck

Thanks Canadp and Yasir.
Yasir: No, I dont mean my score is 67 with out language points. I need to claim at least 12 points in language to cross 67.

12 points mean you have to be near high proficiency...score.
