hi
first of all there is nothing like an interview at the airport its just basic rules about immigration which every one has to follow
mostly immigration ppl will ask you abt your visit like tourist or immigrant or business and your temporary or permanent address if you have like staying in hotel or you have family here or you rented apartment like these basic things mostly with Que it tcks 15 min

than you tack your luggage and your pet go to custom and border checkpoint they will ask you few ques. abt your luggage how mach money you are bringing into this country your pet health, gold jewelery (basically any item you have on which duty has to be paid) this will tck anything frm 10 min to 30 min depend on your luggage and pet related documents

Calgary or Vancouver.... it depend on your flight detail if you are crossing immigration and custom in Vancouver than all thing will be on that airport or els on Calgary.
connection time is 2.10 hrs if you just waiting on airport not crossing border than it ok otherwise if you crossing border at Vancouver and than catching next flight than you will be in rush...

I think your connection time is rather short to do all the task: lining up at the immigration kiosk, meeting with immigration, collecting your baggage and pet, lining up at the CFIA kiosk, meeting with CFIA, leaving the international arrivals area and check in again for the domestic flight to Calgary.

After you exit the International arrival area, perhaps you can put your baggage in a cart and walk your cat for pee/poop/feeding outside the YVR airport building or in the parking area? Just don't forget to clean up before you head to the domestic flight check-in. You can also take your pet to the nearby sky train station and check out parks in Vancouver, BC.

I often seen pets in YVR airport as well as customs dogs.

I'm sure he won't pee and eat outside,Co's he didn't pee when I changed the cat litter box to a new one n his urinary tract got crystallized, I brought him to the vet n he has been stayed there for 3nights with surgery. That's Why I'm worrying too.

So you would be bringing the old cat litter box into the flight? If that is the case, then you can put the box in your carryon and your pet can pee/feed right after you collect him in the baggage area of YVR airport.

Have your pet also tried DAP? Some people said it works well on pets.

Well, I know at least CX only allows pet traveling as checkin baggage. I was in your situation when brought my dog from HKG to YVR few years ago, so I understand your struggling. I can't say whether or not, DAP or rescue remedy worked for my dog during the flight, but at least my dog did not calmed down for about 20 minutes from the moment I put him in the kennel, leaving my old home and load him into the van to arriving Chek Lap Kok. He seemed to calmed down at the time I drop off him at the oversized baggage check-in counter. He remain calmed when I collect him at YVR airport.

hi there,i ordered rescue remedy and has been trying it for 2 days,it doesnt work at all,my cat so alert when i was trying to feed him in the kennel,2 feet was stepping out of the kennel always n hes like picking the food with his mouth out of the kennel and eat.

i will go to the vet soon, may try some sleeping pills idk

will go for ac since they provide the fastest route, btw they allow pets on cabin, but its not applicable for the flight from hkg to yvr but yyz,i called them n they explained because of different flight model and the flight model from hkg to yvr has less space to fit the pet carrier inflight

so stressful since my cat keeps meowing when i take him to the vet,EVERYTIME!Even the taxi driver was annoyed and he said ur owner is taking u to see the vet,dun cry!he cries all the way to the vet till him arrived home again..

I think this behavior associates with age. I recalled when my dog was still young, he keeps barking , vomiting and crying every time I put him in the car and took him to country parks, beaches and vet clinics. But now he's an old man, he's been very quiet in the car.
