Hi there,
so when you apply with an inland application there comes a point of time when you get approved "In-principle" for permanent resident status.

I searched around but i wasnt able to find anything on when in the whole application process this happens.
Is it relatively early or close to the end?

Asking since i've read that this usually allows you to apply for an open work permit as well as study without International Student fees.

Pre-Assessed..
The AIP is currently taking ~ 17 months from the date that CIC received the application package (in their mail room).

The new pilot program (introduced last December) now allows a person that has already submitted an Inland application to now receive the OWP, without having to wait for AIP.

Use the search feature here and you will find many threads discussing this new program. The only catch, is that the applicant must have legal status to qualify for the pilot OWP.
