I am on an extended Visitor Record from the US. I drove via land border and they (CBSA) said as long as my visitor record is active, no need for me to claim the vehicle since I'm on visitation status.
I have recently started the process with my partner for the Common-Law Sponsorship : Family Class inland (submitted 3 weeks ago).
My question is that since my visitor record isn't expiring until May, and I am going to be applying for OWP once the AOR comes through, what would be the best way of importing my vehicle?
I didn't know if I could just drive up to the border, not cross into the US side but park and go into the Canadian side since I'm already here and start the process of importing me vehicle.
I already have all of the documents since I had brought them with me when I first came in. I also didn't know if it would be recomended if I should be waiting until I get the OWP rather than doing it before or during the application status is pending.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
