I am a Canadian citizen and I am outland sponsoring my wife for a PR. She is currently with me in Canada on a TRV and we now want to apply for an OWP under the new public policy that allows even family class outland PR applicants to apply for an OWP. In the application process, it asks that we fill out IMM5707. However, something about this form doesn't make sense. Under the 'Your Spouse' section of this form it asks if her spouse will be accompanying her to Canada. Obviously the answer here is NO since I am already in Canada and a Canadian citizen. However, later on in the form it says:
NOTE1: If no spouse, common-law or conjugal partner is listen in Section A, read and sign below.
I certify that I do not have a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner.
Signature:________________
How can my wife sign this since she does have a spouse who is not accompanying her.
Did anyone else run into this? How did you handle it?
