Question about future changes in address

Hey Guys, Form IMM008 asks my wife ( applicant ) where do you intend to live in Canada?
The problem is that we intend to live in Alberta but I am currently an Ontario resident with an Ontario address and I will be submitting the application several months before my move to Alberta. So my question is if it is ok to put Red Deer Alberta as an answer on her form even though I have an Ontario address? Thanks a lot

In my opinion, your spouse would not be restricted to live in the city/region that is provided on the IMM008 form. But just to avoid a closer look by the officer (thereby causing delay-'why is spouse intending to stay in Alberta when the sponsor is living in ON?'), being the pessimist that I am, I'd mention ON address. But really, its not significant.

I was considering just saying Ontario but I wasnt sure if she would then be restricted to live in Ontario or if it would cause problems in the future.
Maybe I should tell the truth and put Alberta and attach an explanation?

Yes, that would be the best option. But for sure, one is not restricted to live in the region specified (unless if it is Quebec, I guess).

I agree. Use the Ontario address to save the VO from any confusion. You can update CIC later on when you move, assuming your wife hasn't landed yet.

The thing to do is avoid confusion for the VO. The easier you make it, the faster things will go.

It is fine to use your current address in ON. If you have already moved by the time your wife's application goes to processing, simply submit a case-specific enquiry requesting that they update her file with the new address. The new address will go on her COPR. Even if they don't put the correct (new) address on the COPR, she can update it at landing at the port of entry.

How about this situation?

Hubby and I are moving to Chile next week. We plan to apply for the PR Outland by the end of May/early June, when we will be living with family. In July, we're moving somewhere else (to our own apartment), but we don't have an address for that yet.

We were planning on writing down the address we'll be living in at the time we apply, but should we update the address once we move? Should we let them know that we moved?

Thanks!

Yes, the embassy should be informed of all address changes, employment changes and family composition changes. Work and address changes go to the background and personal history of the applicant, so at all times, CIC should have a current address. Family composition changes are especially important to the overall application.

How do we do this? Contact the embassy directly in Santiago?
Also, is there any way to avoid them sending any kind of information to that address? We will select to have most communication made by email, but we want all snail-mail stuff sent to an official address, and not that new one (we will be renting there for only a year, after all).
Thanks for your answer and all your help!
