Question about Fee Payment Form

I have question regarding Fee Payment Form IMM5620

In section B - Credit Card Payment Autorization

I have to put amount of money that I authorize to be billed from my credit card.
For my case (Principla applicant + spouse + child under 22 = 550 + 550 + 150 = 1250$ CAD)

The application states: "Note: The amount authorized must be equal to a single fee or a multiple of a single fee. Authorizations for other amounts are incorrect."

What does this mean? That the correct amount might be 550, 1100, 1650, 2200 etc. Like multiples of 550?

If i write 1250 is it uncorrect

No. $1250 is correct. This is for those, who are sending both DD / CC with the application. For that they are saying that it cannot be possible to pay $800 with DD and $450 with CC. It should be either $150 or $550 or $1100 or $700 with CC and remaining with DD. Hope you understand.

Thanks jigzyy for the replay.

If a choose to pay with credit card, because I don't know when they will charge my credit card, I should have all the time 1250$ in my account? Is this correct?
Even if they charge me after 6 months?

Yes. This is correct. Because no one knows when they are going to charge. You may have to put a little over it, sometimes a transaction cost applies or the conversion fee applies. So, to be safe, you can deposit $1300 CAD or equivalent in USD or in your local currency to be safe.

Dear noobmoon,

I would suggest you to pay the Application Fee through DD becuase there might be unknown technical difficulties while charging the credit card. It will only cost you the bank charge but in return you are sure that CIC will have the application money.

Fuad

Dear jigzyy

I will definitely put 100$ more on my bank account.
But if I wrote for instance 1250$ than they cannot charge me more than 1250 coz I haven't authorized them.

Should I wrote 50-100% more in the application form, or to put the exact number but just to have something extra on the bank account?

Dear fuad1980,

How do i go with DD payment.

I was thinking about credit card, coz it looks clean, you only write credit card info, like you are making buy from net.

With DD, what is the procedure? Do I need international bank? Any links or info would be appreciated.

By the way, whats the difference between FSW1 FSW2 and FSW 3

fuad1980 has Category........: FSW2
jigzyy has Category........: FSW1

They are different kind of visa categories. I thought there is only one FSW visa.

you ask your bank if they issue CAD bank draft. if they do, that's it. just pay other charhes with your account with them. but if they don't have cad DD, try other banks. in our country, u have to have an account with the bank before u can apply for DD. that's what i did. i was able to get the DD on the same day i opened an account.

Hi Noobmoon,

I got my DD from Standard Chartered Bank in Canadian Dollar. All international/foreign banks working in any country has the system of issuing foreign DD. All you need to give them the copy of the Fee Payment Form and equivalent local currency. They will issue the DD on the same day. Even some of the local banks also have the system of issuing international DD.

Fuad

It's not CIC that will deduct, it's the bank itself that may deduct fee on the it. CIC will only charge 1250. But sometimes, there are secondary banks involved and they may or may not charge fee.

Why do you need to put money in bank account.. which bank account you are referring to ??

If you are Authorizing to pay CIC by ""CREDIT CARD"" for say, 1250 CAD$... you just need to ensure your Credit card has "available credit limit" of atleast 1250CAD$ always for next few months (untill & unless you're confirmed that your application is accepted or rejected Or your CC gets charged)... just ensure all your Credit Card shopping, purchases, any cash withdrawal doesn't consume your credit limit.

Your monthly Credit Card bill will clearly state your
a). (Overall) Credit Limit ,
b). Available credit Limit,
c). Available cash limit.

Always ensure the column b). is more than equivalent of 1250 CAD$ iin your local currency.

You only pay your Credit Card bill which will show if/ when CIC accepts your application and charge your credit card for 1250CAD$.

Also ensure you keep your credit card safely, don't block or replace credit card.. as it will change your credit card no. & CVV code which will not tally with the details you have filled in the Form at a later stage

i think it's only for application processing. for easy facilitation or to make everything organized.

Category 1

You have at least one year of continuous full-time (or the equivalent in continuous part-time) paid work experience in the last ten years in an eligible occupation.

Category 2

You have a permanent job offer from a Canadian employer. The job offer must:

be in writing on company letterhead and signed by the responsible officer/supervisor,
be for permanent full-time (non-seasonal) work, and
meet the arranged employment requirements described in this guide.

Category 3

You are an international student currently enrolled in a doctoral (PhD) program, delivered by a recognized post-secondary school located in Canada, and:

you have completed at least two years towards the completion of your PhD, and
are in good academic standing, and
are not a recipient of a Government of Canada award requiring you to return to your home country to apply your knowledge and skills,

Thanks for all the replays.

I was reading the guide for payments
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp#pay-fee

It says:

Payment method options

In Canadian funds only, you may pay:

by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the “Receiver General for Canada” or
with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)

Now, does this meant that I can choose which method to use, or it depends from the country you come from.

Here I found different banks and methods for different countries.
http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/austria-autriche/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng

For most of the countries it is DIRECT DEPOSIT and for Macedonia it is Financial Instrument.
Whats the difference?

Dear forum members,

I don't want to intrude this post, but I came from Macedonia, and on the link provided above it states for my country:

If you are a resident of Macedonia you should send a financial instrument in Canadian dollars drawn on a Canadian bank, payable to the Receiver General for Canada, for the exact amount of the fee(s) in the table above.

FINANCIAL INSTRUMENT (Canadian dollar certified cheque or money order)
Send a financial instrument in Canadian dollars drawn on a Canadian bank, payable to The Receiver General for Canada, for the exact amount of the fee(s) in the table above.
We will not accept financial instruments drawn on non-Canadian banks or in the wrong amount.

And I have no idea what kind of payment is this?
Can anyone give me more info?
Can I use credit card method, or only this Financial Instrument.

Thanks
