Me again!! Where abouts are you in Alberta?

Ok. We are just outside of Edmonton...we arrived 4 weeks ago but I grew up here...

I found this website http://attractions.uptake.com/alberta/family.html

It depends on how old your kids are, mine will be 3 next month, we went to Valley Zoo last week. It is quite small so perfect for my boys to walk around but there is still plenty to do.
My nephew has just turned 14 and he enjoys the Telus World of Science - a bit too old for my 2. I personally have always loved Elk Island National Park, but I really love being outdoors so it is perfect for me and of course Jasper and Banff are always wonderful.

We are going down to Calgary at the start of July and will be going to the zoo there, my sister and nephews say it is fantastic.

Thanks for the info Canooknic.

Smaller places like Red Deer are really nice. My boyfriend loves it here...he is a foreign worker from El Salvador. In the winter, the Bower Ponds is the place to be for skating and there are many places to go sledding. During the summer, people love to float down the Red Deer River on anything that floats whether it be an air mattress or a daffy duck tube. Red Deer also has many nice parks and trails and the Collicutt centre has a wave pool. Downtown by Superstore, there is an outdoor fountain spraypark which is open to the public to enjoy for free on a hot day.Westerner Days parade, fair, and festivities are in July. Red Deer also showcases many street festivals and every Saturday there is an open outdoor market by the Rotary Park.

RedEnsign,

Have you tried ice fishing? I am planning to buy outdoor goods equipment here the in US as mostly it is on sale right now.

Yes. I have when I was in the seventh grade. We went ice fishing as a school trip. I am a Canadian citizen and grew up here in Alberta but joined because I want to help my boyfriend who is from El Salvador, get PR. He is right now a foreign worker.
