hi there

my partner recieved this letter stated required to update file, so the question is what it said.....
In order to continue this file you are required to produce the following documents:
Please note: Documents must be submitted in a SINGLE package. Do not submit any documents until you have prepared the entire package. We will make a decision on your application on the basis of the documents you provide at that time.

- Update the following form (please read carefully the instructions on each question before answering)

Schedule A Background/Declaration:

- Updated and original Chilean Police Certificate (Certificado de Antecedentes original y de fecha reciente).

- Updated and original Hoja de vida del conductor, even if never issued a driver ' s license.

does it mean they we decide there decision of the file once my partner submits these documents as she already done so????????

What they want are *updated* documents. Even though your partner has already submitted them, they need new ones.

It does seem to me that they mean that these are the only documents missing and that they're almost ready to issue the visa. However, I'm not certain. You may get a better answer by posting this in a thread specific to the Santiago office.

My interpretation is that they want new documents with information that is more recent.

For example, the police check would also have information from the months since the first one was submitted.

Theres very little chance that the VO is worried about the 3 months since you applied... Unless there was something on her record that would make them worry about it, but most people with bad criminal records don't usually apply for immigration. My guess would be they were expired... oh heres a thought, the letter said "updated and original" did you by chance send them copies? a mix up of papers some how? use of a chandler?

I remember you asked about this before; my question is, did you already submit those papers?

This is the post I'm talking about:

Thanks for your comments,
My partner dropped them off at the embassy, reason was driver/police checks were almost out of date and they needed an update version to finish processing, and the other document was because it was outdated, in June or July came out with a new one, thou they looked the same but what can you do.......
So hopefully everything we move forward as so far it's been only 3 and half months and we are now at this stage , good think is at least we know they are checking the file as the E.cas doesn't say anything....
Which is on this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t125391.0.html

I'm wondering if maybe, your partner submitted the requested papers, but they where either not satisfied by them (were they copies, like creampop suggested?) or they didn't realize you already sent them, or maybe you sent them independently, and not all in one folder?

thanks for the Reply, you all probably right, as we did the checks in march 2012 didnt submit paperwork until middle of August...
so probably making sure everything was correct....
and yes all was original we sent, and like i said we know about the mistake we made on the IMM form, but thanks to the replays hopefully here soon,as the embassy made sure the paperwork was correct when she delivered them to there.
So with any luck that should be it, and now just wait

well there ya go... they were expired, if you received the certificates in March they expired June they are only good for 3 months in your hands, therefore they requested new ones... Good Luck!
