Query related to AHCIP

Hi there,

I am main applicant, recently got PR. Wife is pregnant and in her first trimester. We are planning to land in Calgary in July. I will be there during the baby birth and will leave after the baby birth. Wife will continue to live there.

Question is can I apply AHCIP only for my wife (dependent PR)? because I cannot fulfill the requirement of six months residency in one year as main applicant.

It doesn't matter who is principal and who is dependent after landing, they would be all permanent residents of Canada.

You and your wife can apply for AHCIP immediately after landing. You can cancel your coverage if you are no longer a resident of Alberta.
