Hi All,
My query is regarding the FD that I & my wife are planning to show for POF.
So the thing is my wife will be showing her bank statement which has a current balance of around Rs. 6 Lakhs. On top of this I am planning to show my FD which is for 15 Lakhs amounts. But the thing is my FD in my name as well as my sisters name. So my sister will be giving me a gift deed and affidavit which will be notarized. So I will have full access to these funds. Regarding this I have a few questions:-
i) If I am showing the said FD and getting an official letter from the bank that this FD can be encashed anytime and is free from any liens or encumbrances. would this suffice or will I need to get a 6 months bank statement on top of this. As I mentioned earlier my wife will be getting an official letter from her bank also.
ii) Just to confirm I will need to issue an NOC to my wife (primary applicant) that I am giving her free access to the FD funds and she can use these as settlement funds as and when she requires. Is my understanding here correct.
Lastly most of you might be thinking that why I am not just showing the FD with the gift deed along with the NOC. Well I had asked a friend who knows a consultant who deals in Canda immigration. He advised that I my wife should include her bank statement also along with the FD. Also because we are expecting our first born in a few months time and have accounted for the money that we will need to show for him in this one submission.
