Hi There

I am new here and have been reading through forums and CIC for last couple of days. While I believe I got a feeling of what is needed to submit the application have one or two questions regarding Experience Certificates and IELTS. Would appreciate if experience folks here can provide their feedback

1. About experience, for past 10 yrs I am working at a multinational company as IT Mgr and have worked in different countries during the tenure. Currently I am in US and plan to apply from US. Now considering the size of my company, I do not think I can ask for a certified experience letter from the company as it will raise eyebrows and can create trouble for the job :D. But I have my official resume on company letterhead along with appointment letters, promotion letters and so on.

Will this be sufficient for submitting the application?

2. About IELTS, shall I give the exam before sending the application to CIO and send the result along with forms?

Thanks and I hope joining this forum will help me to become one among you :)

If you can not get the reference letter from your current employer, you will have to explain the same to CHC explaining why you could not get it.

In my case I explained to my company that process will take over an year and convinced them that even if I take the option to go to Canad I will be able to give sufficient notice ( much more than in contract) to make sure company is not impacted and they issued me the letter

For IELTS, it is not mandatory but good to have it done before the application. It saves the headache of guessing the competency.

Employment letter which includes job title will work; don't have to use company letter head for your personal resume. You may want to attach standard job responsibility / description for your area of responsibilities, and usually most HR / total rewards department have them available on company INTRANET or SAP portal.

IELTS will help but with your international experience in various English speaking counties will be a significant plus- Good luck!

I was in a similar situation..I know my company would have 'laughed aloud' had I asked for a similar stuff(ref letters)

What I did was explained them why my organization cannot issue any ref letter and then provided some proofs in terms of my achievements in organization etc etc..
You need to support it and be convinced yourself first that the prooofs you are submitting are sufficient enough to stand you well in FSW category...Rest as they say-'what's not in your control, blame it to destiny'..:)

Hope this helps

cheers!
