Hello People,

I am a student+worker in Canada, planning to apply for PR in January. Is a reference letter from my 2 old employers (India), where I worked 1 year and 6 months respectively compulsory for PR application ? I mean, I have the joining and experience letter from both companies already, (which doesn't explicitly lists the job duties).

Some of my colleagues from those companies got a PR without a reference letter, so I was wondering if I should consider it an utmost essential for the process. Please advise!

Also, I am living in an apartment with friends in Toronto, but my registered address everywhere is my local guardian's address in Brampton. Should I know anything about the police verification procedure in this regard?

I'd appreciate any help, I am really ramping up the PR process.

Thanks,
Anir

Reference letter is compulsory

Edit: you need to prove at least 1 year of continuous experience in an A, B, or 0 category NOC over the past 10 years to be eligible for Express Entry.

If you do not need these 2 experiences in order to meet this requirement, then no need to get experience letters. You can just move these two to your Personal History section post ITA, instead of the Work History section.

If you do need those experiences for eligibility or points, then reference letters are a must.
