I AM POSTING THIS ON MY FRIENDS BEHALF.SHE POSTED ME THE FOLLOWING :-
Below is my academic profile -
10th - 83% - 2001 passout
12th - 95% - 2003 passout
B.E. ( Electronics) - 60% 2007 passout.. where i was campus placed into an IT company and worked for 2 yrs until 2009. I took an year off to study for MBA preparation and couldnt get into good colleges so had to come back to IT job in 2010 worked there until 2011 and had to leave the job...it took me almost 7-8 months to find my next job where i worked till june 2013..
Atos - Sept 2007 to sept 2009
IBM - Aug 2010 to Apr 2011
HCL - dec 2011 to jun 2013
currently i m determined to finish my further studies as it is already very late..with a employment gap of more than 2 yrs and previous education more than 5 yrs ago what are my chances for canada ? my IELTS score is 7 with no band less than 6.5

educational gap will not matter as long as there is relevant experience . 2 years employment gap needs to be justified in some way......the only problem i see is selection of program.....since i believe experience is not related to past education.

what course should i go for ? I want to take management related ones, Global Business Management or Project Management...

But trying for Wireless Networkign too..for the sake of visa...

its a good thing..
and congrats for that..

its just a very common grounds for rejection, by the VO..

they look at the logical progression of ur past studies and experience.. so it very important to justify anything wich seems a lil off..
In india its a no brainer for Techies to go for MBAs after Btech.. the whole system has adapted to that..

VO do not fall in the same category.. many ppl have been rejected VISA in tha past.. just coz their choice of programs was not in congruence with past experience or education..

Just a opinion..

There was another post before Mead's which the person has deleted ,stating that 5 yrs or more gap means no visa for Canada.....

If I was lucky, then I will give many examples of people who got lucky with similar profiles and experiences.
Just becoz u are not aware of reality ,does not mean it does not happen.

Canada needs people with good exp and good educational background to come to Canada nd be part of their workforce.....Unfortunately people with low marks and who cannot get any jobs in India apply for Project Management and what not programs in Canada and then get rejected. They blame VO for such things, rather then seeing their own fault.
Also , the whole idea of this forum is to share one's exp and help others out.......See the glass half full rather then half empty.

The profile details given here are mine.. I have applied for Computer engineering courses in Concordia and Carleton n got rejects..so now I am left with Colleges..I have applied for Wireless networking and project management related courses..

I didnt had much choice in colleges either..due to the 5 yr gap from previous education most of the SPP colleges wont consider me..I heard I can apply under SPP visa, as the rule applies to the visa as well..so i shud be applying in General..

with 8 yrs exp ,GMAT score n no gaps...the chances of visa are positive..it is totally justified to do MBA with that exp..

Even with an SPP admit , do I have to apply in General category for visa ? As in the SPP visa category the 5 yrs education gap rule applies..but with an SPP admit, it clearly looks to the VO that we skipped SPP and applied in General only to get the visa..that shall give a wrong impression..

I'm not saying that the visa will be refused 100%. Luck is an important factor to be considered over here. But we got to admit the fact that chances of visa refusal are pretty high as long as education gap is covered with work experience.

So, shud i apply directly in General, instead of trying SPP ? the thing is i m running out of time...if its a reject in SPP, it might be 1 Dec..so considering if i hav only 1 option of either general or SPP..which shud i opt for ?

You can apply directly under General. I also did the same thing. It's not necessary that a person has to select an SPP college in his first application.

i did apply for concordia n carleton univs..got rejected..n instead of going to low univs i chose colleges in toronto..even there i m eligible hardly for 5,6 colleges.
Eg: applied for centennial n got a reject saying more than 5 yrs educational gap..so now i m waiting for humber admit (wireless)..n hav a Project Management admit from durham...

all of these are SPP colleges..as i just hav 1 shot at visa filing, considering the time limit..i m choosing Humber admit under general..is that my best option ? only for
