Hello Members !

Greetings !

I am Indian Citizen and got my COPR in May 2017 in USA. I provided both Indian and US PCC for PR, which of course was done before May 2017. I did not land until May 2018 and have been in Canada since.

Now, while applying for my citizenship, do I need to obtain and submit US PCC again (My US stay does fall under the 4 year criteria)? Asking this because I spent a full year in USA after obtaining PCC.

The website canada.ca is not very specific about it.

I would really appreciate if someone can advice on it.

Thanks !

Thank you @CaBeaver ! I would really appreciate if you can share the long answer as well, for the sake of my understanding.

Thanks Again !
In the instruction guide it says
You don’t need to provide a police certificate if
  • you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada, and
  • this time falls within the past 4 years
OK, your case may not be as obvious as I thought it was, since in the last 4 years from now (Dec 2021) you lived 6 months in the US after your PR application has been approved and before landing. So, if you apply now, I suspect you need a PCC from the US. But if you apply after two months from now (Feb 2022), you may not need a PCC certificate from the US since 4 years from that date, you would be lived in the US for 3 months (< 6months). I would apply for PCC certificate to be safe.
