query of spouse's education

Hi Members,Firstly wishing you all of you good luck for canada immigration.My query is I am going to apply next year in july 2009 immigration to canada.Presently my wife after school studying in Indian based NIIT centre in Almaty kazakhstan institute of information tecnology for one year diploma.The weekly instuction time of NIIT is 6 hrs.Apart from NIIT she is doing aprenticeship in multinational IT company .After one year diploma from NIIT she will get certificate of aprenticeship .so please anybody guide me ,can we claim for spouse education points.I shell be thankfull for kind reply.

here is a quote from the self assessment test from the canadian website.


Obtained a one-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and completed at least 13 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies

this equals to 15points whereas if only 12 years of full time study, this gets 12 points only.

Thanks for reply.i mean my wife is not principal applicant .The principal applicant is me.If she get one year Diploma in infromation and tecnology from NIIT(private institution from india)Weekly instuction of NIIT is 6 hrs. and they will provide also one year practical training apprenticeship in partner company.The total full time study of my wife will be 18 hrs. weekly.After diploma my wife's total education will be 12 years (11 years school in kazakhstan + 1 year diploma from NIIT)so will canadian immigration officer recognize my wife's education and will give 3 points of my spous's education.Please reply if possible.Thanks
