Query : How to calculate work experience for Come to Canada tool and EE profile

Hi All,
I am creating my EE profile but a little confused with the work exp calculation procedure due to conflicting inputs. Please share your thoughts -

Scenario:

Company NOC No of years
Company 1 4061 9 months
GAP 6 months

Company 2 4162 9 months
Company 3 4162 6 months

GAP 6 months

Company 4 4162 18 months
Company 5 4168 18 months (current)

1. So as per above, for Come to Canada tool how many # of years of work exp should I consider?
2. For creation in EE profile, can I consider all of my job experience?

Read the question carefully and answer. If it asks how many years overall, the answer is 5 years. If it asks how many years in a particular occupation, the answer is Less than 1 year for 4061, 2-3 years for 4162 and 1-2 years for 4168 and you have to answer this based on which NOC you're going to choose as primary NOC.

2. For creation in EE profile, can I consider all of my job experience?

For CRS score purposes, Yes you can mix and match across multiple NOCs. For program eligibility, No you'll have to restrict it to your primary NOC.

Thank you Asivad for your help again. So just to clear my doubt once and for all, does work exp for less than 12 months in one org. count towards total work exp for CIC purposes? I am asking this because I got an initial paid review done from an immigration consultant and they discounted my work exp of 9 months because as per their interpretation any experience of less than 12 months will not be considered?

If all you have is less than 1 year of work experience, you are ineligible to apply under EE. That is the only time legitimate work experience less than 1 year will not matter to CIC.

For everything else, you can add whatever work experience you WANT and can PROVE regardless of how long you stayed in the job. Just think about it - why would such an insane condition exist in the first place? Would CIC really care about your job loyalty to a random employer in that they would want you to spend at least 1 year in the job for it to be considered legit?

If I were you, I would ask the consultant for a CIC link which confirms what they have told you. If they are able to give it, you can update it here so that all of us benefit from that. If they are unable to provide it, you ask for a refund so that you benefit from it!

1. Company 1 3 years and 3 months
2. Company 2 2 years and 1 months
3. Company 3 9 months
4. Company 4 1 year (current)

The consultant discounted my Company 3 work ex as "less than continuous 12 months full time".
