Hi,

hi did your son get an arranged employment from an employer in canada?it means the employer has applied and got a positive LMIA to support your son's pr under the federal skilled worker program, please note that the job offer MUST indicate the position is full time and indefinite once your son is granted pr.
what kind of clerical job is your son getting?because most of them are low skilled which means it will not qualify him to apply for a pr.
if its a semi or low skilled job and the employer gets a positive LMIA then your son can apply for a work permit but the job offer should be for a one period at a time because that is the duration a work permit can be issued for and not permanent.
please note that if he comes to canada as a TFW he can only extend his work permit for a limited period of time and his chances for pr with an unskilled positions are very low.

He still needs an approved LMIA. You need to start by having the employer get the approved LMIA. Without the LMIA, your son won't be able to apply for anything.

No - it's not at all easy to get LMIAs. For the LMIA to be approved, the employer must advertise the job for at least a month to prove that no Canadian could be hired for the role. The employer then needs to submit the LMIA application and pay a $1,000 processing fee. Processing times for the LMIA can be up to 20 weeks.

as for the AINP they have their own programs and criteria but all of them require the candidate to be employed in alberta at the time of application.
what is your son's potential job's NOC this is the only way to find out if its skilled or not as if its not just forget about the pr.

The OP said it is a clerical position, which 99% of the case is low skilled.
