Hi, me and my wife have been trying to untangle the whole process of applying for spouse sponsorship in the province of Quebec. We would appreciate if someone who went through the process could share some knowledge with us.
Here are a few questions:
- On the first page of the Generic application form for Canada (IMM 0008) there is a required field asking about the CSQ. I can either say I already have it or specify the day I’ll get it. Why can’t I leave it blank? I thought I have to fill that form and THEN I’ll get emailed by the Quebec governement in order to get the CSQ? Can I just fill the date of the day and move on?
- What is the first step needed to initiate the sponsorship process? I believe I need to submit an undertaking to the IRCC. We made an account on the PR Portal and saw a very long form that you can use to submit all the documents. On the first step, should we submit just the undertaking?
- Is it possible to do all of the Quebec side of things Outland / Online? I’m afraid that I’ll need to receive mail at home and I’m current living abroad with my wife.
