Dear Nish123,

I am the main applicant and my passport is expiring within one year. I have asked the same to my case manager and I have been said there is no problem to renew it.
I will renew it within the next 2 months, if any new info to share with regards to this, i will gladly do it.

BR.

It could happen to take too much time, but not for the majority.

Here is some info from my case manager that i would like to share:

In most cases, an applicant will receive a request to undergo medical examinations about 6-8 months following the issuance of the CIO AOR. It is usually at this time that the visa office will also request additional documents, if necessary.

Following the completion of the medicals, it takes another 2-6 months to receive the request for passports for visa issuance. It can take up to 6 weeks for passports to be returned to an applicant after they have been sent for visa stamping.

I hope it can help

depending or your region the whole process could take from 6 to 48 months. Plus passports need to be valid for at least 6 months before you travel (I don't know if this applies to your situation but as they say: better safe than sorry)

Hey all,

Finally, received my FBI Background Check / Police Certificate for the USA! :) :) :)

Quick Question: should i get an Apostille for the document or a Legalization - since Canada is not a member of the Hague convention -, or should I skip that process and send the document exactly as I received it from the FBI?

Many Thanks,

MontréalSW

Hello all,

Any Suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

Hey evetyone

I have an urgent situation:
I got PPR and sent my passport. However I need to travel to US soon. For sure I will not have received my PR card by then. Can I return to Canada without a PR card? Do they cancel my current visa to issue the PR visa? (I'm not from a visa exempt country)
I thought I land then but the point is I don't know if I can land seperately because my wife and I applied together.
Please share your thoughts.
