Dear All

I have done B.Sc in Chemistry & having the work exp. of 4+ years in Quality department. I have got engaged & my fiancé is doing MBA in Marketing.

I am planning to file PR application for Quebec. I have following doubts.

(1) I have come to know that from Jan-2011 onwards the visa interview is going to be held in English language only instead of French is it true?

(2) Do I need to go for French language classes ? If yes than which level exam should i clear A1/A2/ B1/B2 ?

(3) Can i file my PR application before passing the French exam & just showing that i have joined the classes & very soon i am going to pass the exam of the same.

(4) Do i need to go for IELTS ?

(5) If i join any consultancy, than does it indicate that i am not competent enough to file my PR application by my own & will is create any negative impression in mind of immigration officer ?

Thanks to all & Regards

Hello Vikas and good luck with your application,

First u have to decide if u wanna apply alone or with ur wife...in ur case i understand that u are engaged only. Are different points thet are obtained if u are married or not.
French is the language of Quebec, so is impossible to have the interview in english, they are insisting a lot on ur french knowledges and to be considerate francophone u should have a B2 level wich means level 8 in DCS. ( 8 from 12).U can apply now and sent the test after, bfore ur interview, u can enroll in CCF they have a nice way of teaching.Ielts is not necessary, they are more intrested in french test : TCF pour Quebec, Tef, DELF
U can apply alone or with a consultancy firm, for them is the same..no negative intention will be created..
I can send u the way they accord u points for experience, studies, language...etc, but give me ur email.Than u can decid if u apply alone or get married first.
Regards

This is false info. The interview is also a way to check ur french. This is checked against the competency level that you have declared in your forms. if you state that you have basic knowledge of french, then you have a quick round of french; if you state that you are fluent/advanced then you will have the whole interview in français !

(2) Do I need to go for French language classes ? If yes than which level exam should i clear A1/A2/ B1/B2 ?
Yes, its recommended. each level awards different points, and its best to keep learning french till you have a great grip of the lang.

(3) Can i file my PR application before passing the French exam & just showing that i have joined the classes & very soon i am going to pass the exam of the same.
yes, you can file now and submit the results later. but it will most likely slow down your application a bit.

(4) Do i need to go for IELTS ?
University letters are also supposed to work. but to make it simpler its better to submit an IELTS scoresheet.
(5) If i join any consultancy, than does it indicate that i am not competent enough to file my PR application by my own & will is create any negative impression in mind of immigration officer ?
nothing like that

Thanks to all & Regards

@ vicky4frendz , i have sent an email to your inbox. Your application seems to take a longer time than normal. Chemisty is on priority list so i expect it to be fast.
