if your education and job experience is not "preferred" in the "Preferred Areas of Training" as below, can you still apply in Quebec?

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/diverses/summary-table-areas.pdf

Hi godofwar,

yes, as long as you get a positive result on the online evaluation, u can apply.

Does anybody know how many hours of course from Alliance Francais would be required to get to basic level of french with no prior command over french.

Well, call them and ask how many hours you need to take to cover level B2 in TEFAQ. I know that if you present a result from TCFAQ or TEFAQ you might skip the interview. Anyways most of the people I know that people who have been on an interview are around B2 level, this is considered as intermediate level.

do you think a MBA degree from univ will be considered in Business Management category??

I wish it could, but I dont think so. When you look at the list with preferred areas of training Business Management is under the collage graduate diploma. My husband has 3+ years work experience in business development management, but this wasn't considered as priority while they reviewed our file.

this is the info i got from Alliance Francaise (of Manila) website:

Congrats for the success.
Need your help. Please let me know if TCFaQ or TEFaQ exams are conducted in India.
If yes, where can I check.

Also, which French exam results did you share in your file.

Thanks in advance..

Hey guys,

I am a PhD (Quebec equivalent according to agreement) degree holder in Electrical Engineering with 3 years work experience. My area is under preferred area of training in Quebec list(Evaluation website). Do I get priority treatment for CSQ? By the way, 2009 List of preferred areas of training mention "NO" for priority processing.

I am confused. If my area is under shortage list then why "NO" for priority treatment? Please share your view on this issue.
