I want guidance from you guys, who have taken steps in quebec immigration .

I have done M.B.A in Marketing in 2008 and my spouse has done bachelor in commerce in 2009

From last two years i am in job and at present working as marketing execuitive in Dammam,Saudi Arabia . my wife is working as an accountant .

I dont' know French .

I have two question ?

Does my qualification and experience help me in quebec immigration .As i don't see my qualification in there prefered list.

With no knowlegdge of french ,Is it going to disqualify my application.

I hope to recieve reply on this .

Hi,
You can go the quebec website and take the points assessment. It seems to be very near to their final results.

You will not be disqualified for your lack of French knowledge because that is not the only factor that Quebec looks at, but you will have to submit some proof of your French knowledge. If you're serious about Quebec, then I advise that you enroll in some courses at your local Alliance Francais or start learning the language.

If you are called for an interview, you will have to demonstrate your language skills then.

Hi tajdar2001,
ya... I was not in the forum since last 2-3 weeks.... heavily loaded with job duties..
well...I agree with quebechopefull,
presently if you dont know french, that may not be a big issue, but yes they may call you for interview and then you must exhibit them your french language skills, many times oral as well as written skills too.

so, get enrol yourself to a french coaching institute such as alliance or any other in your area.

I hope this answers your query.

Tajdar

Since you are applying to the Hong Kong office, these are the documents you need to submit:

List of forms and documents to enclose with your official immigration application

Section 11 of the above link titled Proficiency in French or English indicates the following:

* To evaluate your language knowledge if neither French nor English is your mother tongue, you can enclose documentary proof attesting to your proficiency in French or English and, if applicable, that of your spouse.

* To demonstrate your French language knowledge and speed up the processing of your application, enclose with your Application for a Selection Certificate an attestation relative to either one of the two tests recognized by the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC) for assessing French language knowledge – either
o a Test d'évaluation du français adapté pour le Québec (TEFAQ – French evaluation test adapted for Québec) or
o a Test de connaissance du français pour le Québec (TCFQ – French language knowledge test for Québec)

* You can also submit an attestation for: the Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF), the Diplôme approfondi de langue française (DALF), the Test de connaissance de français (TCF) or the Test d'évaluation du français (TEF). If you choose the TCF or the TEF, you must enclose an attestation of the results of both the oral comprehension test (mandatory test) and the oral expression test (optional test). Please consult the table (in French – PDF, 54 Kb) for a detailed description of these French tests.

* To establish your English language knowledge, please enclose with your application the necessary documentary proof for yourself and your spouse, where applicable. This proof could be the results of a recognized evaluation test, such as IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge tests. You may also enclose a document to prove that you have worked in English or French.

Thank's Donutbox,

yeah i ahve already studied that document, confusion is like

For English cerification: i have obtained My emloyer certificate stating that i do all my business and office communication in english.

For french i am going to attach my admission slip of french institute.

Second confusion is like i am based in Dammam ,Saudi Arabia .here you dont have Alliance Francaise institute, In place of that french Embassy runs a institute with the name Saud franco institute . so thing is ,whether honkkong biq will accept that admission slip or not .

Hi tajdar2001,
I suggest you to get the IELTS test, they consider it more authentic compared to certificate from employer.
Secondly, you are attaching the admission slip of french institute that is run by french embassy. I see here no harm in submitting this with your application.

Just be sure to enhance your french language skills as the time passes, because they will assess you on the same when you are called for interview.

I hope this helps.

Hi All,

It is rather unfortunate to inform you that if you have submitted your application to Quebec and you have not yet been called for an interview nor have got the final decision yet, your application will be processed according to the new rules in effect since August 1st, 2013, no matter when you submitted your application.

Please check this FAQ, specifically answer No. 1
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/questions-answers.html#august

Also, please help us to send a complaint to the Minister of Immigration by using the link below, you can send the complaint in either English or French,

http://www.micc.gouv.qc.ca/fr/ministere/ecrire.html

Many thanks guys!
