Shahi, did they wrote you about this translator person who you can bring it with you. i know that is an option but what do you think?
I think is better to spend some money for him than stay as dummy while the officer could ask you some strange question.

i am afraid because i am not too good at French but this idea they showed to me really likes me :)

A translator is needed if the applicant is unable to communicate in English or French. If you can communicate either in English or French then no need to take a translator. Moreover the translation service if already requested is arranged by the concerned BIQ and the applicant can't bring his own.

A+

Thanks for reply Baiyang. I can communicate in English and French but not that good. See exact what they have wrote to me:

L'entrevue se deroulera en francais. Si vous, et votre conjointe s'il y a lieu, pensez avoir des difficultes a communiquer adequatement dans cette langue, veuillez vous presenter
avec un()e interprete officiel(le).

They don't say nothing about choosing or paying someone there. Did you mean that somebody will be ready for us if we choose there to represent our self with a translator man?
Or we need to book him from here, and than he will be ready for waiting us at the embassy when we have the interview appointment ? I can speak English, French, Italian and Greek language but nut that good. I can't speak in French about my future or about the past, i can only talk in general but in English and Italian yes i can talk all the day about me and my family, what we have done or what we want to do, our plans, about economy or politics, about job market and everything else.

Tell me if you know something about booking someone to represent you.

I am a Chartered Accountant from India planning to apply for Quebec Immigration. I would appreciate details about opportunities in Quebec for accountants with 8-10 years of BPO (Business process outsourcing) experience.

Thnx in advance

Hey Lirgan,
I personally advise against using a translator. i ll tell u y!.. i study with a guy here with me ..and he had aaplied for quebec skilled worker as well..tht guy has a horrible french..and even worse english....guess what he cleared on 31 st Jan 2011!!...can you believe tht..

My humble suggestion is speak in french ..may be for 5 -10 minutes...... as you mentioned you can't speak abt your past and future in french..no prob..speak only abt your present life in french and then switch to English by permission during the interview...

Might i suggest you to take individual classes in AF...one on one..that would easily enable you to describe your life in any time frame..believe me it helps...

remember....during the intervew you mus thave a level of french which shows tht u r learning and will continue to do so..they are not looking for perfect french!!..so make the effort and good look!!

Accounting personnel are in high demand in Quebec, however, they prefer if you have a canada earned qualification and canadian experience. :(
Which professional designation do you have? ACCA, CGA, CIMA, CPA, CA?

My application got to BIQ-Paris on the 10th of January 2011 and the card was charged on the 2nd of February and I guess this is because my qualification is on the List of Preferred Training List (Biochemistry) which I guess gives my application Priority Treatment. So its possible if your qualification is not on the Priority List it might still take a while. But I hope it'll be charged soon.

Yeah U r right, they have mentioned only French and not English. So it is to be either in French or u need to have a translator. Also they have mentioned "interprete officiel" which give an impression (in my personal view) that they will provide the interpreter.

I tried to find something about it on BIQ website but till now found nothing.

In my interview call letter from concerned BIQ they enclosed a confirmation slip which I was required to fill & return to them and about the interpretation service was written like this ."If you tick YES (to the interpretation service required) then send us a cheque of so & so amount...and further that you are not entitled to bring your own interpreter to the selection interview. So in my case if I required the translation service then some one had to be there arranged by BIQ.

What I conclude is that it might be different from one BIQ to another, so better u ask them via fax/email.

Good luck!

Hello Shahi,

Finally i got CSQ. The interview last for 1:30 hours but most of the time was taken to check documents. It was totally in French. Let me give you over view of it:

(1)Bring all the necessary document with you for interview. (Which you have provided when you have applied and new one)
(2)Do not forget to bring salary bank statement of current company and previous company along with salary slips. The reason behind to get the salary bank statement is, officer may show you negative sign by saying that these salary slips you have printed altogether so on that time you can show salary bank statement
(3)Get current job work experience with responsibilities detail

He has asked me questions like,

(1)What is your responsibilities? If officer would not understand your job responsibilities then he will ask you for more explanation.
(2)Why you want to go to quebec?
(3)If you are married and your wife is also working then they will ask her about her's responsibilities
(4)What is the name of cities in quebec?
(5)What are the job chances over there in your domain?
(6)How many points you require to get CSQ? (Get the detail about it)

If you require any help from my side then please feel free to ask.

Regards,
Bhavikna
