Hello,

I work as a Quality assurance Analyst and applying under FSW program this year. I looked up the old NOC list (NOC 2011) and looks like code 2171 is applicable for my position. But at the same time, I saw few posts in this forum that said, people cannot apply in 2171 under FSW without a job offer. I am all set with my applications, IELTS, police certifs etc. But upon seeing such posts I am in a huge dilemma. Can anyone help me out here - please let me know if I am eligible to apply.

QA Analyst - overall 7.5 years experience, working in the US for the past 5 years.
IELTS - L=7.5 , R=8, S=8.5,W=8

Appreciate your response.

SK

No one can tell you if you will qualify to apply this year without a job offer. The occupation list hasn't been announced yet by CIC. You will have to wait until CIC makes this announcement.

Thanks for the response Scylla. I thought we can apply without a job offer but our petitions may not be prioritized. Ok, so now I guess I need to wait for the confirmation on whether or not we can apply without a job offer, the updated NOC occupation list and the ECA which is yet to be announced. Oh man!

If you apply now without a job offer your application will be automatically refused.

If you apply after May 4th and your occupation isn't on the list (and you also don't have a job offer) your application will be automatically refused.

So yes - you need to wait for the FSW occupation list to be announced (or get a job offer in Canada).

I apologize for too many question. But say:
I apply after May 4 and my occupation is on the NOC list but I do not have a job offer. My petition will still be processed correct? It will not be refused based on job offer. Am I right?

Yes to both your questions.
