Finally, we received our passports and the immigration visas. Now I still need your assistance in some issues:
1- On the papers sent with the passports (Confirmation of Permanent Residence),it is written Hamilton, Ontario. What does that mean? Am I obliged to land in Hamilton since I was planning to land in Ottawa? Is that a problem? And if I land in Hamilton then do I have to apply for my SIN in Hamilton also or I can do so in Ottawa?
2- They are advising us to do medical insurance at least for the first 3 months. Can you please tell me how I can do this while I'm outside Canada? Can you provide me with a name of a medical insurance company for me to contact and go through the procedure?

3- I need to show the landing funds at the airport but till now I don't know how to do so since as I knew that I'm not allowed to carry more than 10,000 $ as cash. Do you think I can open a bank account before landing? Please guide me through this issue as I don't know how to manage it.

Don't worry about it.

1.You can land at Toronto airport or at Ottawa.
Your SIN can be applied from the nearest Service Canada where you are going to live after landing.

2.For temporary medical insurance you can contact

You can take the medical insurance for 3 months after landing or online before landing. No one at the airport is bothered about your insurance.

3.You don'tneed to open account early.You can take Cash (Canadian dollar or US dollar) , demand draft or Travelers cheque. Better take 5000 cash and balance as TC or DD as you prefer. There is no problem for taking more cash but not safe.

Thank you Wilson for your answer. I just want to confirm one thing: are you sure that I can land in Ottawa airport even if on my CPR papers Hamilton,Ontario is mentioned.

I mentioned already.You can of course land in Ottawa if you need to do so. Toronto (YYZ) is better airport for landing. Flights to Hamilton airport are mostly domestic and very few international flights are operated by West jet which are mostly via western USA. If Ottawa is preferred for some personal reasons you choose that.
