Hi all,
For some family reasons, my spouse doesn't want to land with us. I am the principal applicant. What would the effect of this issue? Is it going to affect us? What if the medicals expire and he doesn't land? Please share your opinions and experiences.
Thanks,

Congratulations Canonly1 on getting your PR. If your spouse does not accompany you that is fine as long as he enters Canada once before the visa stamped on the PP expires, if s/he does not do that then you will have to reapply for your spouse in family class. I and seniors on the forum will recommend your spouse to accompany you and come back immediately after completing the Landing and you can collect the PR cards later and send it back.

Thank you new_2_canada for your answer. You are saying that my spouse can land and come back immediately . What do you mean by immediately? How much time? Months? weeks?
Thanks,

By the returning flight - the same day.
Qorax

Ps.: His not landing - now or ever - doesn't affect your PR status, u being the PA [which doesn't hold good for vice-versa].

Thanks,
if she cannot accompany her with you for landing she can stay at home till when she is able to travel to Canada. As you mentioned the date of medical is very important as she should land in Canada before completing one year from the date of her medical examination. Better her ticket should be booked at least before one week of that one year completion date. Landing in Canada and return to home country immediately :D, and then again travel will be tiring and also expensive.

Please ensure that her original COPR should be left with her and you should not carry it if she is going to travel on a later date.
