Completed medicals sent RPRF and passports.

Question:- Since my wife is 8 months preg, so i got her X-ray done using a sheild now all our medicals are completed. However , my question is ,will they stamp the visa and send the passports back or will they hold the visa till delivery ( in that case how will i apply for neborn's passport as original passports of both parents are required)

Hi Sunny,

There's no rule/norm that CHC will hold back your visa/s till the delivery. However, timing is the factor here. Post meds, the PPR [if not already with meds] & Visa/s could take around 3 months.

In your case your spouse would have delivered by then. Thus, u cannot proceed w/out adding the new born in your case file. The earliest u can expect your pps+visa/s to return is 30 days.

So, I guess u'll have to organize the baby's addition before u could move. Moreover, at this advanced stage of pregnancy, no carrier would permit her to fly, besides u shouldn't take chances as well.

The process of addition is simple. Just obtain the baby's new pp, fill-up the forms, pay the processing fees [no RPRF] & send it to your CHC. Thereafter, wait for further instructions. At most by 30-45 days u should hear from the CHC.

Regards,
Qorax

Thanks for your reply Qorax. However , the main concern is of baby's passport.

We can get the birth cert of newborn. However , to get babies new passport issued we need to show the passports in original to the passport office ( which I have already sent to ND).
So Will they send the passports back to me when I request for addition ( without visa) or they'll stamp the visa and return the passports in original so that we can the newborn's passport made and the send it to ND for stamping along wid medicals

Provided everything is alright with your spouse's meds, they'd stamp your visa/s & send the pps back. But, if they detect [or if the DMP notified] her advanced stage of pregenancy, the CHC might not stamp & ask u to resubmit. This is all fluid situations.

Now, the biggest challenge... if u get the visa/s & she deliver's before travel, u cannot go to canada w/out informing CHC about the delivery & adding the baby into your case file. It'll amount to misrepresantation.

Besides, if u travel to Canada w/out that, u'll face problems to get him/her in Canada later. 'Coz, w/out adding the baby in your file, s/he is not your family member.

Thus, the ideal situation is to add the baby before flying. By itself CHC-ND may not return your pps, unless as I mentioned in the 1st para. I'd advise u to notify the CHC imdtly about your situation & ask for their guidance/opinion.

Much appreciated Quorax.

I would surely ask my consultant to send information to CIC. Also , we told doc abt the same and she had mentioned it in the medical reports along with the Estimated date of delivery ( 23 may).

I'll just keep my fingers crossed and wait for CIC for further instructions

Qorax has already answered your question. Let me sum it up.

Situation 1: CHC might stamp your and your wife's passport within 30 days (Avg Time) and send it back to you and once the New Baby is born then you can get the passport made and also get the birth certificate of the baby so that the passport process can be quick. Yes will have to show your and your wife's passport but it should come back to you within 30 days. CHC might ask you to fill in the details and pay some processing fee (its 150 CAD i guess) and maximum within 20-30days baby passport will be stamped. I know you must be wondering that it might cause a delay of 2 - 3 months but trust me what ever happens happens for good.

Situation 2: CHC might not stamp your passports and send you a letter asking for an update on your wife's condition and according if the baby details are sent to them, then after 30 days you should expect your passport back.

See the time frame which I have mentioned is average time frame and it can be earlier than this one else. Best of luck

My suggest as Qorax said inform CHC about the situation and they will instruct you what to do. It will save time as it will help you save one BF'D which is brought forward date & save time.

I had a similar situation like you. I added our new born baby to the application and now Buffalo is processing my application with the new addition. Do not take any chance. Inform your consulate IMMEDIATELY. Better to add the baby once he/she is born and then proceed with the rest smoothly. Worst case scenario I see here is your departure to Canada being delayed by a few months because of the birth of the baby and further processing.

If during medicals the doctor came to know about your wife's pregnancy and then the doctor will write it in the report and yes CHC might hold the passport request. I may be wrong here so ask others as well.

If your wife is in an early stage of pregnancy, you can travel safely before your baby is born, the baby will be born in Canada and will be a Canadian citizen.

But if your wife is in the advanced stages of pregnancy, the most logical thing(from a safety point of view) is to wait till the baby is born, submit his/her birth certificate along with $ 150 and a updated bank letter/statement to your Canadian consulate and get everyone's visas processed to travel to Canada.

I do not think it will be stopped. But there are further consequences down the road. You have two scenarios:

1. You get your passports stamped rather quickly. In this case you should plan to travel to Canada immediately so that your wife can travel with few risks and have the baby there. But you need to be very careful and check the health insurance policies for the proviance you will be travelling to. I think in Ontario (OHIP), your proviance health insurance kicks in 4 months after you are a landed immigrant.

2. The other scenario is that if it takes longer to get your passports stamped, it might be risky for your wife to travel in an advanced stage of pregnancy. Some airlines also may not permit her to fly in that condition. In that case you need to wait for the baby to be born, add the baby to your file and get the processing done and travel together.

So plan everything extremely well and carefully. Play the devil's advocate and think of the worst case situations you may face and how you will solve them.

Good luck
