i applied from new delhi in 2004...waiting endlessly and getting old...am 49 now....at any cost wish live to in a better world for the sake of my child...but with the increasing age i am bit worried as to whether i would be able to find job in canada due to my advancing age....is there any age bias in the canadian labor market....i am quite fit and willing to do any work once land in torronto.......pls reply with your experiences.....

We were just chatting today@our home with another member couple of this forum - when this same topic came-up. The Lady Wife informed us that in her own dept (@a bank) there r 2 elderly employees... A female who's 65++ and another male who'd be around 60.

And both r performing diligently (though a bit unaware of IT), while the dept is perfectly satisfied with them. No questions asked - no voices raised.

The husband also mentioned that when he was in the US - he used to get visits from a 60 yr old female@his office for learning... She was a newbie in the org.

Here, nearly everywhere I find enough Sr. Staff (easily around 55-60s) working hand-in-hand with young blood... I have seen Cops too (visibly looking elderly)... It seems age is not a criteria here.
