Qorax: Got married. Got MR a week after. Can my spouse do the Medicals as well?

We got married Dec 2011. I received my MR Jan 2012. My consultant said not to do my Medicals yet until we receive her MR. We will send her docs & updated forms on Monday 16 Jan 2012. Now I'm bothered because I don't see the point why can't my spouse do her Medicals in advance with me having received my MR. My consultant said that the reason is that Med results only have one year validity but he said beforehand that the whole process of adding a spouse to my application won't take a year to finalize! I don't get him. Pls advice. My VO is Seattle
