Q 19 – ADDRESS HISTORY: Your address history for the past five (5) years or if you became a permanent resident less than five (5) years ago, your address history since becoming a permanent resident.

Instruction guide says:
Your Address History: You must list all your residential addresses for the past five (5) years, or since becoming a permanent resident if less than five (5) years ago. You must account for each month in this period.

I was away on vacation for 7 days outside of Canada; while I continue to hold the residence (obviously) in Canada. Should I list this as a 3 separate line items with <Canada address, then vacation address, then Canada address> or would it be one line item with Canada address.

I am listing this vacation under Q 21 as an absence, fyi. There is no suppression of fact; just that I need to be sure I am doing the right thing.

Appreciate your advise very much. Thx.

A 7 day vacation at a new address would not count as a new address. You would just use your main address in Canada for that period.

No problem! Just to let you know, when I applied for citizenship, I just only listed my address in Canada for a similar question, even though I made many business/personal trips abroad. Some of these trips lasted a week or more. I had no issue. I think if you are away for more than a month in the same location, it can possibly be an issue. But a week is nothing and clearly just a temporary visit.

Question one:
In regards to section C (19), if my permanent house is in Halifax for the last 5 years which has been the same since and never changed, I attended a course in Ontario for 4 months, and then returned back to my permanent address in Halifax for 2 months, but then again I attended another course in Ontario for another 6 months and then returned to my permanent address in Halifax, once again I went to Vancouver for 3 months for another course and also returned to my address in Halifax. Do I have to list all these stays as my addresses?

Question Two:
Also, in regards to vacations which are for a week or so in Montreal, Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver which were all throughout the last 5 years, do I have to include those addresses? (please note that the vacations of 2 weeks and less were in Hotels) and the ones I mentioned above (courses) were short term apartment leases.

Thank you & Appreciate your response.

1) This is a tough one because your permanent address is in Halifax while you were away for extended periods of time for education purposes. I would call up CIC to confirm
2) This is easier. Same as boltz, you don't have to mention your vacations.
