Hi Guys,

I need an advice here. I don't know how feasible or unfeasible it is but just wanted a clarity.

I am planning to start my PR visa application by July 2016 (have scored avg 8 in IELTS) and also apply for Masters course in Canada which will begin in August in 2017. I wanted to know if I get my ITA or PR by August next year, can I still pursue a 1 year course in Canada? If so, will I be considered as a local student in that case. Also, once I complete my Master's (i.e. 1 year from Aug 2017 i.e. by 2018), and if I get my PR visa by then, will it pose any kind of hindrance in my job opportunities?

Thanks

Calgary, Alberta.
First of all ITA & PR are 2 different things
ITA - Invitation to apply (not guaranteed PR)
PR - Permanent Resident

To be treated as local student, you'll have to be either PR or citizen.
Since admission process starts earlier than the start date. So, i understand your concern. however, you will be treated as International student therefore 3 times the fee as no one can predict future and universities really don't care about what happens in your life lol.
You can try emailing university and tell them about your situation i doubt they'll even consider your request.

To answer your second question, as long as you fulfill your job requirements there is no barrier. It depends on job market at that time so we can't predict it. As long as you do your due diligence its going to be fine.

I would advise you to first focus on your PR, then settle for a year or so then go for studies that way you'll have more idea about the city and atmosphere there but its your decision in the end.

Good luck. 8)
