Purpose of Visit and Invitation Letter

So I’m only starting my application and in the “eligibility part”, I can’t decide if I choose the “To visit family/friends” or “Tourism” for the purpose of visit. I am applying so i can visit Canada with my bf who is a Canadian citizen but residing here in the Philippines. We will be going around BC but also stay with his family and meet some of his friends. I noticed that the supporting documents required are different for these two options (family/friends one has Invitation Letter and Proof of relationship)

Also, since he is my main inviter and the one who will write my invitation letter, is it okay since he lives here in the Philippines even though he is a Canadian citizen? We are also trying to get his parents to write an invitation letter.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Youre probably going to do both things, visit family and tourism. But visit family sounds more accurate. Yes, you shpukd get Letters of Invitation from his parents stating they will give you accommodation if they will. Letter from yiur bf is useful as well. Proof of cohabitation, if, or else proof of the relationship.
Yes, it'sok he's there with you but you must provide proof of ties to your country, job letters from both if possible, assets, etc.
