Purpose of Travel

Hello All,

A cousin of mine is applying for a visitors Visa from USA. He is required to provide a document for Purpose of Travel. He does not want to buy a ticket before his application gets accepted. He is visiting because of winter holidays. No special occasion. What can he provide for purpose of travel?

Invitation letter is another requirement. Can he upload my invitation letter for both Purpose of Travel and Invitation letter?

A ticket won't work as "purpose of travel" by itself.

Itinerary would be a good starting point, describe what you plan to do, where, for how long. Plane tickets can help establish the purpose.

Invitation letter is another requirement. Can he upload my invitation letter for both Purpose of Travel and Invitation letter?

There is a reason why there are two slots.... so uploading the same document would make your application weaker.

That's the other point. He is visiting for a break. To be honest, I have no idea about our plans when he comes here. The obvious dinners and touring the city. We have to upload something. What do you suggest?

Then start planning... write down where the obvious dinners might happen and where would the city tours take you.

The least detail you give the less chances he will have.... coming to Canada "just to chill" is not a very good reason.

Your role as an inviter is secondary. The applicant is the one who must show ties to home country, good financial standing to travel, provide the evidence and basically is responsible of everything.

The more you are involved in the application the more it weakens it.

He is providing all the documents. The only letter I am providing is the invitation letter. He is in much better standing than he was the last time he applied (and was refused).

How about the letter address to Visa officer, I am the one who wil make and sign it or it should be my mom?
