Purpose of Travel - Tourism

Hello everyone,

My boyfriend got refused in mid-November for his first application due to purpose of visit and financial support. (GC key, applied July this year)

Back then Sinovac was not accepted and the travel plan was not perfect (we did not put daily plan for his visit). Do we need actually purchase flight tickets and make the booking for hotels? He planned to visit me in April next year.

However, for financial documents, we provided his bankstatement (CAD$30,000.00); his ownership of his property; and his employment confirmation letter. I wonder why would they also put financial supports as one of the reasons for refusal. Any advise?

I heard that sometimes it could be worse if the purpose of visit is to visit bf/gf, so we did not mention this. (We are not in a relationship more than 1 year)

Kindly, could you please share if any visa for tourism purpose got approved?

1. Don’t book ticket…says so on the website. Have a travel itinerary with flights and hotel bookings.
2. How long was the visit? And what is your status in Canada? What was in the original letter of invitation?

Purpose of visit can mean many things - no ties to home country, no travel history, don’t think he will leave etc.

Hi there,

Thank you for your response. It's only a short visit, from April 1, 2022 to April 11, 2022. I am a PR. I did not write a letter of invitation - since we are not married or been together over 1 year. Would it be better if we mentioned this? It would make his family tie weaker we thought.

He has PR in Ecuador and his whole family are there. Also a family business.
